Northern Territory

Northern Territory is completely different from Western Australia and we have covered almost everything that we could in previous articles. This one is for the lost, uncategorised and odd photos and stories.

V predchozich clancich jsme pokryli snad vse co jsme mohli co se tyka Northern Territory a proto je tento posledni clanek sbirka ruznych ztracenych ci nezaraditelnych fotek/pribehu.

What an epic surprise that we stumbled on a small yet touching legacy from Mr. Bernie Havlik who’s from our home country. This plaque commemorates his dedication to the local community and that he never stopped being a true Czech person. His hobby was his garden and once (possibly) from some boredom he decided to build something incredible. Check out the gallery to appreciate this ridiculously awesome replica.

NT is truly about the nature and especially about the native birdlife. There’s just so much going on every second around you. You can see birds, hear them, you get awaken by them and you LOVE them.

Northern Territory is often called Nature Territory. They do celebrate their territory every year on 1st July. It’s the only event which is quite against nature. If you like fireworks, ear drum damage and banging noises that stay in your head for few days than come to NT on 1st July. The un-official name is Cracker day and for approx 6 hours you can “enjoy” fireworks with 99% of other people in NT. Even better idea can be scheduling Skype with family/friends during the cracking mayhem which creates an unforgettable impression of you being in third world war 🙂

Yes, we have seen a lot of strange stuff in NT. Below is a photo of a tree which was torn down probably by floods and somehow he/she/it didn’t die and fought back and started growing from it’s branches. Kinda like Diane Ross tells you:

Upside down
Boy, you turn me
Inside out
And round and round
Upside down
Boy, you turn me
Inside out

There are far less gorges in NT than in WA which was a good thing for us. We needed a little break and instead of them we got more waterfalls, hot springs and a bunch of other cool stuff. We’re a bit sad that we couldn’t make it to any meteorite crater so far.

The Rainbow valley is an unique rock formation that lights up like a lantern during sunrise and sunset. Unfortunately due to certain time plans we had only couple of hours in the morning to see the valley but it was still spectacular. If you plan on visiting this place do it in the late afternoon. And thank us later 🙂

Dole v galerii muzete nalezt cely majestatny vytvor a tady mate pouze fotku plakety:

Pokud mate radi ohnostroj, kratkodobe poskozeni sluchu a bouchajici ozveny co vam v hlave zustanou jeste nekolik dni pote, tak s radosti prifrcte do NT a nejlepe do Darwinu jakozto epicentra tohodle silenstvi.

Hrdina!
