New South Wales – North Coast

We were a bit worried that after seeing the best of Queensland the New South Wales will be just about Sydney. It’s so nice to be wrong, right? 😛

Can you seriously remember the name of this town? We still can’t. Thank god for Google and Hema maps 🙂
Interesting town to say for sure – old school cinema, nice lookout from water tower and good supplies for all your needs. Definitely worth 1 day stop.

Mount Warning
Quite unique mountain as it actually used to be HUGE volcano. Now it’s just third of its original size but still is truly formidable. We wouldn’t have mentioned if you couldn’t climb it, right? Hellyeah!
The climb is epic and steep. Take a lot of water and patience 🙂 The final climb is really tough and you should save some energy for it. Summit offers 360 views and is most definitely worth the whole climb. There are some people who enjoy champagne or some other alcoholic beverage after reaching summit of a mountain. Well we took a pineapple and 2 oranges. Check it out in gallery 🙂

Neighbourhood mountains with their stylish hairstyle 🙂

Byron Bay
Byron Bay’s reputation is huge and is mentioned as a hippie and backpackers capital of Australia. Unfortunately this has brought an inevitable destruction of this beautiful town. The whole area is ridiculously restricted. It’s overcrowded with tourist prices and it’s a far cry from a “hippie town”. Our honest opinion is that Byron Bay is not worth the visit. There are places with better beaches, more hippie vibe and the lighthouse? Pffft, go to Balina or any town along the coast.

We actually have found those cool sunglasses at the easternmost point of Australia 🙂

Mullumbimby
This is the true hippie gem of north NSW. Plenty of organic shops, public source of filtered water and super friendly people. This is the place to visit, end of story!

Iluka
Another hidden and awesome spot. Go to Iluka reserve which has awesome lookout and short and intense walk through World Heritage rainforest. Take plenty of repellent with you as it turned out that World Heritage rainforest has shitloads of mosquitoes and they are able to bite you even if you walk real fast.
The best feature is definitely beach walk and holes. Our apologies as we can’t really remember the name of this small place but it’s something something holes 🙂 You will know when you see it. It’s a formation of rocks that battles with high tide. Best time to do it is during sunset and you will have a lifetime memory (and thank us later 🙂 ). The walk starts from the reserve as well.

Yamba
Sort of a sister town to Iluka but slightly bigger. There is a huge walk along the coast but we tried only a small part of it but it’s really worth it. Yamba in fact has the most beautiful beaches and swimming holes in the area that you have for yourself and it’s a MUST-TO-DO to go for a nude bath, you will not regret it :).
Yamba also has a lovely small bay with a sea swimming pool – having a swim in a sea water is much better than eating chlorine, right?

Another reason to stay in Yamba for sunset because it has lots of small secluded bay shaped beaches and the sunsets are phenomenal!

Nevynechejte visitor centrum 😉

Mt Warning
Dneska hora, drive aktivni volcano!

01
Ty cool slunecni bryle sme samozrejme nasli na tom nejvychodnejsim bode Australie

Mullumbimby
Predstavovali jste si nekdy, jak by vypadalo mesto plny pohodovejch lidi, zdravych kramku a pozitivni energie?

A to neni zdaleka vsechno.

01

No Yambu sme si proste zamilovali a ty zapady slunce? Hroznej kyc, vidte? Holt nekdy clovek najde pravy poklad uplne jinde nez mu radi 100 dalsich lidi. Nebojte se objevovat mimo vyslapane stezky!
